COPD Is Associated with Elevated IFN-β Production by Bronchial Epithelial Cells Infected with RSV or hMPV

چکیده

IFN treatment may be a viable option for treating COPD exacerbations based on evidence of deficiency in COPD. However, vitro studies have used primarily influenza and rhinoviruses to investigate responses. This study aims the susceptibility infection response primary bronchial epithelial cells (BECs) from donors with RSV hMPV. BECs five healthy were establish both submerged monolayer well-differentiated (WD) cultures. Two isolates hMPV infect cells. was not associated elevated there no an intrinsic defect production either cell model virus. Conversely, significantly IFN-β viruses models. Only WD-BECs infected reduced viral shedding. The role pathogenesis is clear warrants further investigation. Viruses vary responses that they induce BECs, so conclusions regarding antiviral disease cannot made single infections.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus Induced Type I IFN Production by pDC Is Regulated by RSV-Infected Airway Epithelial Cells, RSV-Exposed Monocytes and Virus Specific Antibodies

Innate immune responses elicited upon virus exposure are crucial for the effective eradication of viruses, the onset of adaptive immune responses and for establishing proper immune memory. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is responsible for a high disease burden in neonates and immune compromised individuals, causing severe lower respiratory tract infections. During primary infections exuberan...

Viral and host factors determine innate immune responses in airway epithelial cells from children with wheeze and atopy

BACKGROUND Airway epithelial cells (AEC) from patients with asthma, appear to have an impaired interferon (IFN)-β and -λ response to infection with rhinovirus. OBJECTIVES To determine if impaired IFN responses can be identified in young children at risk of developing asthma due to atopy and/or early life wheeze, and if the site of infection or the infecting virus influence the antiviral respo...

Activation of Lymphocytes Induced by Bronchial Epithelial Cells with Prolonged RSV Infection

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) preferentially infects airway epithelial cells, which might be responsible for susceptibility to asthma; however, the underlying mechanism is not clear. This study determined the activation of lymphocytes and drift of helper T (Th) subsets induced by RSV-infected human bronchial epithelial cells (HBECs) in vitro. HBECs had prolonged infection with RSV, and lymph...

Interaction of primary mammary bovine epithelial cells with biofilm-forming staphylococci associated with subclinical bovine mastitis

Background: Staphylococci are recognized worldwide as one of the most important etiological agents of bovine mastitis due to their virulence factors such as their ability to penetrate inside mammary epithelial cells and their ability to form biofilm. Aims: The objectives of this study were to establish a model of primary mammary epithelial cells origin...

Elevated tropomyosin expression is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition of lens epithelial cells

Injury to lens epithelial cells (LECs) leads to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) with resultant fibrosis. The tropomyosin (Tpm) family of cytoskeleton proteins is involved in regulating and stabilizing actin microfilaments. Aberrant expression of Tpms leads to abnormal morphological changes with disintegration of epithelial integrity. The EMT of LECs has been proposed as a major cause of...
